We had so much fun together, “on vacation”, at the national Piano Technicians Guild Convention in Vegas. Here we are at the convention with our little helper, Joshua. He was the attention grabber everywhere we went!
There is a special bond between husband and wife who are also business partners. Luckily, for us, we can’t get enough of each other and love to talk business as much as all other topics. I envision us doing shop work together well into our 80’s listening to great audio books.
I captured the above photo while following Brigham to help him deliver this piano that we sold a few weeks ago. He’s so romantic when he asks if I want to go on “a date” with him to deliver a piano. Though I love our piano dates, he takes me on great regular nights out as well.
The title of this post is framed and sits on the desk in our office. It comes from the Proclamation on the Family and holds special meaning for us. Happy anniversary my darling Brigham. Looking forward to the dawn of a new decade with you!
On July 12, Ben turned 8 and Thayne 5. Once again we had a dual celebration and found great joy in our delightful boys! I’m so lucky to be their mama!
The kids are always overzealous to help dad unwrap the newest piano delivery. They know that they get the mega box to add to their box fort collection in the basement. This one is our latest addition to our pianos for sale, a Kawai 48 inch upright. Keep us in mind for referring to friends and family… we reward such kind referrals with a $200 cash thank you for any successful sale over $1000. Here’s a link to this Kawai.
We are blessed to have a street filled with vibrantly active and joy-filled children. I can’t get enough of those smiles! They dress up, dance around the house and beg for YouTube Video Songs to perform to.
I used to keep all of our dress ups in a large chest. I started noticing that only the top layer was getting used. So we pulled everything out and hung them up in our basement playroom where the costumes, boas, jewelry, hats and outfits are all always visible. Needless to say, the dressing up has been much more plentiful around here lately! It is impossible for kids to get dressed up without running through the house giggling and begging for a praising audience. I’m always happy to oblige and they were THRILLED when the camera came out!!
I have an amazing neighbor who is the kind of thoughtful friend that I hope to be one day. When I moved in… she brought me delicious bread. When Joshie was born, meals came and then after most were done helping… she showed up with bags and bags and bags of fresh produce because she knew that I loved salads and fresh fruit and couldn’t yet get out shopping. She raced over a variety of her purses when I e-mailed to inquire if she had a black bag I could use for the LaCaille Masquerade Ball. Then a short while ago, she showed up on my porch with this cute little blue seat… the baby bumbo. We use it EVERY DAY for our little Joshie and he loves it! (THANKS TARA!!!) Dado gets a bit of use out of it as well.
A side note… notice that enormous stack of books next to Briggy? He will get a stack like this during silent reading and sit flipping through the pages for almost the entire hour (he’s 2). The trick to getting him to do this is that he knows once he’s done with books, it’s off to bed for quiet time. Each of my kids has started out this way and has developed a great love of reading! It’s never to early to get them “reading”! Little Briggy also does partner reading and will tell about the pictures to one of his sibs. (and to be totally honest… he occasionally just acts crazy and causes chaos and gets sent to his nap sooner than later so the rest of us can enjoy our quiet hour of reading).
