Christmas 2008

Enjoy This Christmas Video

My friend Mishel, shared this video with me.  Her mother is Liz Lemon Swindle, the artist.  The music is by Kenneth Cope singing my favorite Christmas song.  Enjoy!

Guest Artist

guest-artist-085Brigham was invited to play with the Timpview Jazz Ensemble as the guest artist for their Christmas Concert!  His solos were amazing!  I wish I knew how to do digital recordings onto the blog so you could enjoy them.  He was just on-fire that night and lit up the stage!  So lucky to be his wife!

Here are the kids in their seats before the show started… eagerly awaiting their dad’s performance.  When Brigham got up on the stage, Ben turned around and loudly told everyone behind him, “That’s my dad!”

Sunday Centers

A friend of mine in our ward, shared this idea with me and I thought I would pass it along.  Their family organizes “Sunday Centers” each Sabbath to give their kids positive activities to do.  They’ve been doing it for years and now her teenage daughters run them completely.  We started doing the “Sunday Centers” and are kids have been asking if we could “please” do them on more days than just Sundays.   … continue reading this entry.

American Mothers & Parents Television Council

Tonight would have been our monthly AMI night-but no meetings in December.  More time to work on being the moms we talk about wanting to be.  I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday traditions.  In my efforts to simplify and do more by doing less… I’ve come up with a plan to lead both AMI and the PTC more effectively by holding both group meetings on the same night.  So beginning on the second Thursday in January of 2009, we’ll be meeting at the Provo Library for both American Mothers and Parents Television Council.  I am hoping that doing both in the same night might help to build both organizations as many who participate in one or the other are interested in both.  We’ll have the PTC meetings from 6-7pm and the AMI meetings from 7:30-8:30 with our usual pre-meeting socials starting right at 7:00.  Mrs. Utah 2008, Emily Nelson, will be joining us for our January meetings.  So mark your calendars for the 8th and be a part of two organizations that are working to improve families and our communities.

Above is a photo of our last PTC leadership meeting led by Gavin McKiernen, the national grassroots director, who flew in from LA to provide training.

Below is one of our recent AMI meetings where we finished up our patient dolls service project for Primary Children’s Hospital.  We are going to be delivering those on Christmas Eve to the Hospital.  Thanks Rachelle for the great service idea!

Thrillionaires

We had a fantastic conference weekend! Brigham’s parents came for the weekend and we made some great memories!  Here is the final scene of the Thrillionaires show we attended Saturday night after priesthood session.

Here is Brigham with the cast after the show.

And with me, his biggest fan between shows.

We enjoyed the four sessions of conference with a burning fire, way too much food, great family bonding and lots of APPLES!  It’s harvest time at our house and we’ve got apples EVERYWHERE!  So blessed with abundance!

Rewarding Women With Reflexology

Many years ago, my mom developed chronic pain. She suffers from a condition called trigeminal neuralgia. Those who suffer from this chronic condition have nicknamed it the suicide disease because the pain is so intense. She is an amazing woman who keeps going despite this powerful challenge that has been thrown into her life. Sometimes the pain is so great and intense that it causes her to unintentionally scream out in pain when an “electrifying shock” hits her unexpectely. … continue reading this entry.

Flylady.net

halloween-041My shiny sink!  I had to take a photo because it only looks like this for a quick second about once a week…. and to recommend one of my favorite websites: www.flylady.net.  Check it out as well as the book, Sink Reflections.  I’m a fan of flylady’s methods and ideas although I’m usually a failure at applying them.  Leave me a comment with your favorite home organization, cleaning or mom in general website! (then go shine your sink-it feels soooo good!)
