Big Boy Briggy turns 1!

I love this boy!  He brings pure joy to our lives!

Sailing on Utah Lake

Brigham and I had a fantastic night out with our good friends Norm and Ingrid Sorensen.  They generously took us sailing on their boat out on Utah Lake.  It was a beautiful night watching the sun set and sharing ideas and great conversation together.  Such a blessing to connect with good people who inspire and improve your lives.  I’m so grateful for all of the good friends I’ve been blessed with!  Ingrid took this photo of Brigham and I.

Believe It, Become It

Last week I hosted the yearly reunion for American Mothers, Inc. of Utah County.  We had nearly 50 women gathered in my backyard enjoying a bonfire, s’mores, friendship and self-improvement.  Our sponsor and guest speaker was nationally acclaimed, Paula Fellingham.  She was gracious enough to share, with all who attended, her notes on her amazing presentation!  Her three main points came from her book, BELIEVE IT BECOME IT.

Three powerful beliefs that can change your life:

1. BELIEF: I CAN CREATE POSITIVE CHANGE IN MY LIFE

2. BELIEF: I AM JOYFUL AND CONFIDENT

3. BELIEF: I BECOME MY IDEAL SELF BY ACTING “AS IF”

Here I am with Paula.

Here is a link to Paula’s presentation given to AMI of Utah County.  She encouraged us to share the message everywhere and with everyone… so I thought I would blog her message to the world!  Enjoy, -Karmel

Where Careers Collide

Many of you are aware that Brigham and I are entrepreneurs at heart! We’ve have many, many businesses over the years together. We love working together and sharing the family responsibilities as well as work duties. We are dreamers, planners and partners in just about everything we do. Our current businesses are Real Estate, Piano Tuning (830-0011) and Brigham’s Jazz Trio Gigs (in no particular order of course). I thought a few of you might enjoy this video from the Utah Valley Association of Realtors Summer Event. “Brigham the Realtor” was asked to be “Brigham the Pianist” for the throw together “Realtor Funk Band”. In a once in a lifetime appearance and co-mingling of careers, here is my hubby… sporting dreadlocks and pink velvet. Enjoy! -Karmel

This post begs for comments… come on-drop a line!

Expo Report:Raging Success… Except for My Forehead Wrinkles

The expo was a raging success with over 180 sign ups for American Mothers and Parents Television Council. I had 1 woman cry with gratitude that our booth was present amid the commercial booths. She said, “With an expo title like-WHAT WOMEN WANT-I’m glad that there is at least one booth promoting good rather than handbags, lipo and trendy clothes.” I got that response from many women (minus the tears of course). It was a wonderful event and I met so many great women!

An interesting part of my first day was introducing myself to the botox booth across the isle. They quickly let me know that my forehead wrinkles would use a little “work” or shall I say “injections”. “My forehead,” I replied? Prior to that moment I had been 100% completely and naively unaware that I even had forehead wrinkles. But… sure enough, next potty break I check out my forehead and indeed I’m am lined like school paper up there on my forehead. I wonder what other physical faults and failings I could have discovered had I gone to every booth! What do you think… time to cut bangs and hide my lined and wrinkled, botox needing forehead? Or just go back to joyful oblivion of not even noticing the new wrinkles that come each new year from an over abundance of smiling and enjoying life’s many blessings? Comments?

Bonneville 2nd Ward Bonfire Reunion

B2 Bonfire

B2 Bonfire

How wonderful it was to see everyone again!  The night was too short to have enough conversations.  Let’s do it again next year.  How about Monday night August 17, 2009 from 6-9pm again.  That’s Janille Stearmer’s Birthday… we can have cake and sing!

New Blog…

I’ll now be blogging at a new site that will combine all of my other sites into one.  The new blog is www.karmellarson.wordpress.com.  I also have a new website that I’m working on at www.karmellarson.com.  Both still need a lot of work, but you can check them out.  My new blog will be combining my work with American Mothers, Parents Television Council, Real Estate, Mrs. Utah Pageant Platform-Declaring Decency, and whatever general thoughts on currents events, family and home, etc. that intrigues me that day.

This blog will continue to be the family updates and photos.

Mrs. Utah United States Candidate-2009

After being inspired by many women (Kelly Anderson of Startup Princess and Cherie Burton of Bluerose Communications) who have participated in this event and report it to be a very powerful experience in self-improvement, I’ve decided to become a candidate myself.  Yes, I’ll be putting myself on the line and wearing a swimsuit on stage, parading around in 4 inch heals.  Not really something I ever thought I would do, but I’m exited to meet the challenge head on.  After 4 babies in 5 years, I’ll need to work at this one!  I start with a personal trainer next Saturday.  You can visit her website at www.lizrosenbaumfitness.com.  I’m thrilled at the prospect of reclaiming my fitness level and feeling confident in a swimming suit once again.  I never wanted to be the kind of mom who sits out on the side of the pool.

More importantly though, I’m intrigued by this opportunity as an avenue to promote the work I’ve been doing with American Mothers and Parents Television Council.  You can visit my new website to view my platform.  I hope that you will consider donating to support my efforts to Declare Decency.

Mark your calendar for April 25th 2009 and come to the pageant held at the Covey Center For the Performing Arts in Provo, Utah.
