Mrs. Hastings Peach Cobbler

Here’s my favorite recipe that I’ve acquired this month.  I had to track down Mrs. Hastings, mother of my childhood friend Julie, to get this recipe that was brought to memory by eating a quart of home canned peaches.  (we have 6 peach trees now, so we’ll be eating this one a lot) ENJOY!

Mrs. Hastings Home Canned Peaches Cobbler

Mix together:
1 C sugar
1/2 C soft butter
2 C sifted flour
4 tsp. Baking Powder
1 C Milk
Spread mixture evenly in a 9×13 baking dish.
Drain peaches, and save juice. Over batter, place halved peaches, flat side down. Over fruit, sprinkle  1/2 C sugar. Over all, pour 1 C of reserved fruit juice.

Bake at 375 for 45-50 min.

Great with vanilla ice cream (or mint chocolate chip if you have kids like mine).

Abby’s First Harp Lesson

Abby went to her first harp lesson today. She is so excited to be learning her second instrument. It was such positive one on one time with her. Abby’s new harp teacher is Anamae Anderson. abby-harp.jpg

Happy Birthday Abigail-4 Years Old!

Abby turns 4 years old. We love you little sweetie.

We had a great family birthday party for Abby.  Nana and Tama came to celebrate with us and brought Abby a baby bed for her baby.  She is a perfect little mama who nurses her baby to sleep each night just like Mama Karmel.  She’s been wearing her birthday crown and earrings every day since her birthday.

THRILLIONAIRES

THRILLIONAIRES

Brigham has been having fun playing with the Thrillionaires recently at their regular gig at the Covey Center for the Arts in Historic Downtown Provo.  Their first show together was a huge success featuring Kirby Heyborne to a nearly sold out crowd.   If you can imagine improv comedy meets improv music… you get an improv musical.  Hard to believe, but they pull it off!

You can see catch a show by seeing the online schedule.  Also, check out the Thrillionaires webpage.  A great laugh and great show.
